W-O-R-D-S

No this post is not about all those fun little words or phases that our kids say that most of us parents like to share. This post is about the actual WORDS that Conner is starting to write. Conner loves to know what words mean and how to write his letters.
Recently he has taken to making signs for his bedroom door. Conner decides what he wants the sign to say and then asks either Mom or Dad to write or say the letters for him. Most are "No... Allowed".  For the most past what we have noticed that most of the things not allowed into his room are meat eating dinosaurs or monsters. We are still working on the "s" and the "x". What I really love is that when Conner runs out of space on one line, he just finishes the word on the next.

"No Monsters"

"No Trex (or) Spinosaurus"

"No zerberts allowed"

A Day at the Park

As some of you might have seen, Conner has been really interested in photography.  He loves to take the camera wherever we go and take pictures.  We are actually working on printing out his photos and making his own photo journal.

Lat weekend, Conner and I went to our local park.  It was a wonderful, sunny day and we decided to take the camera and Paddy.  For those of you that don't know, Paddy is Conner's dino that goes everywhere.  Paddy is, in Conner's words, his little brother.  (Arthur, his other "new dino" is his other brother. But Arthur has not made it into any photos yet, he's still to little Conner says.)

As you enjoy our day at the park, notice that many of the photos are "action" shots.  Conner has a tendency to run and shoot at the same time.

End of Summer Family Fun!

The weather is finally cooling off here in Kansas.  We decided to take advantage of some really nice weekends days and play!

Earlier this month we went to the Kansas City Ren-Fest! Conner was very excited to have his very own turkey leg. Here are a few of the better pictures for the festival.

Cheese!

Conner and dad attempt to feed the very hungry sheep

...and for another year Brett is left to feed the sheep because they  keep swarming Conner

"Look mom, I'm a knight!"

We decided the end this month with some apple picking!  We found a u-pick orchard and had a blast.  I think Conner ate more than he picked.  Now its on to apple pie making and eating!

Conner and the camera

Where is what happens when your 4 year old lets you sleep in for the last two days....
I got a kick out how how he was staging some of the objects on this bed or on the floor.  Might be time to give the little photojournalist his own camera.

Conner Turns 4!

I can't believe how fast time flies.  It seems like only yesterday we were bringing home Conner for the first time.  He has gotten so big!  We got back from the Doctors for our annual birthday checkup and we are a big strong 4 year old.  We are now 44" tall and weigh 46 lbs.

Conner once again got to share his birthday with Grandma and the Wisconsin family!  Grandma, aunt Ande, Isaac and Jace all come to visit us for a whole week!!!  It was so cool!

We celebrate our 4th birthday three times this year -once at school (we had batman cupcakes) once at the park with our play friends and with the family at....the T-REX CAFE!!!!  At the T-rex cafe we got to eat with the dinosaurs and then we got to make a new dino friend - Arthur the ankylosaurus.  Conner now has two dino babies, Arthur and Paddy the apatosaurus.  (Mom is classic Zan fashion hid the camera in her purse and couldn't find it during the lunch with the dinos - so we have to wait to see if Grandma's photos turned out...)

While Isaac and Jace were here we took them to the KC Zoo and saw the Polar Bear - it was awesome!  We can't wait for thanksgiving when we get to see Isaac and Jace again.
